June 5th 2015 9:50pm. "Rainbow" the 2015 CahowCam star fledged leaving the burrow and flying out to sea where it will remain for the next 3 to 5 years.
Rainbow (named by Junior Explorer Sophie-Yumi) hatched at 1.40pm on March 4th 2015 in burrow #831 in Translocation Colony A on Nonsuch Island in Bermuda. The hatching event was filmed and streamed live by the CahowCam, the first time ever that such an event has been witnessed or filmed.
The CahowCam has live streamed and recorded the past 3 months of activities in the burrow, capturing many previously unseen behaviors in the process, a compilation of which will be posted in due course.
