Privacy Statement
If you have or are subscribed to any of our mailing list(s) the following apply: We are based at P.O. Box WK539, Warwick, Bermuda, WK BX, and act as the data controller for your personal information. If you have any questions, you can contact our privacy officer at privacy@nonsuchexpeditions.com
We collect and use your name, email address, and any communication preferences you provide in order to send you our newsletters, event information, and related updates you have requested. Our legal basis for this under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is your consent, which you gave when you subscribed to our mailing list. Under Bermuda’s Personal Information Protection Act 2016 (PIPA), we use your personal information only for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances and that we have explained in this notice.
We store your information securely and restrict access to staff or service providers who need it to manage our email lists and communications. Where we use third‑party email service providers or other vendors, they act only on our instructions and must protect your information to standards consistent with GDPR and PIPA. Your data may be stored or accessed outside Bermuda, including in the EU, UK, or other countries, but we will take appropriate steps (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards) to protect it.
We will keep your information for as long as you remain subscribed to our email list and will delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period after you unsubscribe, unless we need to keep it longer to meet legal or regulatory requirements. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us at [contact email]. If you unsubscribe, we will stop sending you marketing emails, though we may still retain limited information (such as your email address and unsubscribe request) to ensure we respect your preferences and comply with our legal obligations.
You have rights over your personal information, including the right to access it, correct it, restrict or object to its use, and, in some circumstances, request deletion or data portability. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority; Bermudian residents can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Bermuda (PrivCom) regarding our compliance with PIPA.
If we change this privacy statement, we will update the version and effective date in our emails or on our website and, where appropriate, notify you of significant changes.
